We are proud of our patient care providers and all the fantastic work they do in our community. Over the next few months, we’ll be featuring interviews starting from our newest addition to the SERO family about life outside of the office.
Lauren Jones, PA-C is our January 2018 Provider of the Month. Lauren has been with SERO since March 2016 and sees patients at Carolinas Medical Center.
I am originally from High Point, NC. I attended N.C. State for undergrad and then Wake Forest for PA school. I moved to Charlotte after marrying my husband, Andy, in 2010. He is a Charlotte native and works for Bank of America. We have been married for over 7 years and have 2 daughters that keep us busy. Emery is 4 and Olivia is 7 months old. We have 3 dogs, 1 cat, and 1 fish – crazy, I know!
My first job was a waitress at a local BBQ restaurant in High Point. I got to work alongside some of my best friends and we had a blast. Everyone should experience waiting tables in my opinion, as it really helps build interpersonal skills.
At a young age, my grandmother had all of us grandchildren volunteering at Hospice with her and this exposed me to the world of healthcare. She herself has volunteered over 25,000 hours there and has always been a big inspiration to me. Through this, I found the PA profession. I initially worked in cardiology out of PA school but found my way to radiation oncology. We all have loved ones who have been affected by cancer and I find it a privilege to be a part of their treatment.
I love naps – who doesn’t? But in all seriousness, we are very involved in our church, enjoy Panther games, and going to the mountains with family. We have a lot of extended family here in Charlotte so we value spending time with them as much as possible. Both my husband’s and my family are very close.
