Dr. Heinzerling’s ongoing research focuses on utilizing a combination of immunotherapy and radiation therapy to treat stage 3 lung cancer. Over the last 15 years, improvements in the respective fields of radiation therapy and immunotherapy have led to more precise, targeted treatments that contribute to fewer side effects and better patient outcomes.
